King Raven Trilogy

Posted by Hannah at 5:20 AM 0 comments

Hi Guys, its Will.

The King Raven series are great books.
They’re full of action, but have a lot of
conversation.

Hood

Steeped in Celtic mythology and political
Intrigue of medieval Britain,
Stephen R. Lawhead’s work conjures up an
Ancient past and holds a mirror to contemporary
Realities. It is an epic tale that dares to shatter
Everything you thought you knew about Robin Hood…

Scarlet

After losing everything he owns, forester Will Scarlet embarks on a search for none other than King Raven, whose exploits have already become legendary. After fulfilling his quest--and proving himself a skilled and loyal companion--Will joins the heroic archer and his men.
Now, however, Will is in prison for a crime he did not commit. His sentence is death by hanging--unless he delivers King Raven and his band of cohorts.
That, of course, he will never do.
Wales is slowly falling under the control of the invading Normans, and King William the Red has given his ruthless barons control of the land. In desperation, the people turn to King Raven and his men for justice and survival in the face of the ever-growing onslaught.
From deep in the forest they form a daring plan for deliverance, knowing that failure means death for them all.
Scarlet continues Stephen R. Lawhead's riveting saga that began with the novel Hood, which relocated the legend of Robin Hood to the Welsh countryside and its dark forests. Steeped in Celtic mythology and the political intrigue of medival Britain, Lawhead's trilogy conjures up an ancient past and holds a mirror to contemporary realities. Prepare for an epic tale that dares to shatter everything you thought you knew about Robin Hood.

Tuck

"Pray God our aim is true and each arrow finds its mark."
King Raven has brought hope to the oppressed people of Wales--and fear to their Norman overlords. Along the way Friar Tuck has been the stalwart supporter of King Raven--bringing him much-needed guidance, wit, and faithful companionship.
Deceived by the self-serving King William and hunted by the treacherous Abbot Hugo and Sheriff de Glanville, Rhi Bran is forced to take matters into his own hands as King Raven. Aided by Tuck and his small but determined band of forest-dwelling outlaws, he ignites a rebellion that spreads through the Welsh valleys, forcing the wily monarch to marshal his army and march against little Elfael.
Filled with unforgettable characters, breathtaking suspense, and rousing battle scenes, Stephen R. Lawhead's masterful retelling of the Robin Hood legend reaches its stunning conclusion in Tuck. Steeped in Celtic mythology and the political intrigue of medieval Britain, Lawhead's trilogy conjures up an ancient past while holding a mirror to contemporary realities. Prepare for an epic tale that dares to shatter everything you thought you knew about Robin Hood.

I suggest these books to readers
Who want to expand there vocabulary
Because its got lots of weird words!

Artemis Fowl 2 & 3 by Eion Colfer

Artemis Fowl 'The Arctic Incident'
This is the second book from the Artemis Fowl
Artemis receives a message that says his father is
Hostage to the mafia and they ask for the ransom of
Five million pounds. It is an exciting adventure for the fairies
Too as they battle the B’wa Kell for Police Plaza.
Definitely one for the ‘to read’ list.

Artemis Fowl 'The Eternity Code'
Artemis is at his money making schemes again but,
Thanks to a slight slip of security, it doesn’t all go according to
Plan. Holly is there to help of course but they need more than
One fairy to grant success to there vital-to-the-People-mission.
Juliet, Butler’s sister plays a major role in security, 911 disguising
And general kick-but too. But Artemis and his club have more than a security
Code to break though to reobtain the ‘C Cube’ which holds the power
To rob anybody of anything. Unfortunately the C Cube still contains LEPrecon
Information and discovery by the infamous Jon Spiro could only lead
To the end of the Fairy secrecy and the of an unwinnable war…

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Gallagher girl Academy for Exceptional young women, where students kick-box in PE, disarm bombs in science, and are awarded extra credit in computing if they manage to crack CIA codes. Gallagher girl might claim to be a school for geniuses, but it's really a school for spies.

Fluent in fourteen languages and capable of killing a man with a stick of uncooked spaghetti, Cammie Morgan figures she knows a thing or two....
Until the day she falls for a regular boy who thinks shes a regular girl.

She can tap his phone, hack into his computer, and track him through town without his ever being the wiser. But can Cammie play girl friend to someone who can never know the truth about her?

This is a fantastic book,
It kept me thinking he's/she's a goodie or he's/she's a baddie.

I would say this book is a PG.

From Hannah
If you enjoyed the first won you can get the second one..
Cross my heart and hope to spy.

The BFG

Posted by Hannah at 6:47 PM 0 comments
Hi everyone,

I've been reading a book by Roald Dahl, The BFG (The Big Friendly Giant).

It was so exciting and a want to read book, Roald Dahl uses some words that he has made up. Here is one of his facinating words, Snozzcumber. What do you think a Snozzcumber is?

Every night, when the world is sleeping; big grusome giants guzzle up whoppsy -whiffling human beans. And there's only one giant who can stop them - The BFG. He's the kindest giant there is. With his friend Sohpie in his top pocket, he sets out to rid the world of the Bloodbottler, The fleashlumpeater and all thier rotsome friends forever....

You can get your hands on other Raold Dahl books, (James and the Giant Peach, Danny the champion of the world, Georges marvelles medicine, and much more to pick from.) you can order them from legrand book shop or your nearest book store.

Enjoy
